On behalf of The Cameron Highlanders
of Ottawa Foundation and all members of the Regimental family, I welcome
you to our website and sincerely hope that you will find it interesting
and worthwhile. I am particularly proud of the quality of this site
and wish to publicly thank RSM Rob Gagnon for his efforts
in this regard. It is also very encouraging to see the number of emails
we receive from people from all over, many of whom are seeking information
on relatives who have served with the Regiment.
As you navigate around the site, you will learn about the various facets
of the Regiment from our proud history to current operations and activities.
You will also learn about the various components of the Regimental family
that support the serving and retired members. I would like to mention
that we have a Last Post section on the website. This may the only way
that some of us are notified that a member of the Regiment has passed
on.
Over the years, the Regimental Foundation has concentrated on three
projects, namely and the much anticipated Regimental History project,
the Bursary Program and the Bren Gun Carrier project. The Regimental
History project is now complete and "Capital Soldiers: The History of The Cameron
Highlanders of Ottawa" by Dr. Kenneth Reynolds was launched on Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Wine
& Cheese event during the Association's 66th Annual Reunion
Weekend. The book is now available for purchase.

Our two other projects include:
The Bursary Program which awards scholarships of $500 to members of
the unit for their studies. These bursaries are:
- The D-Day 13 Platoon Memorial Bursary
- The Colonel Donald and Dorothy Thompson Bursary
The Bren Gun Carrier project is the monument quality restoration and
installation of a famed " Bren Gun Carrier", in original colours and
tac signs, in front of Cartier Square Drill Hall. Slightly delayed by
the Laurier Bridge restoration project, the vehicle itself is nevertheless
being prepared through a partnership with the Royal Canadian Dragoons.
