Cameron's
says Good-bye to RSM Clapham
OTTAWA,
November 2005 -
On November 24th, the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa received a new Regimental Sergeant
Major. Master Warrant Officer Jim Seguin receive the RSM's pace stick during a ceremony at Cartier Square Drill Hall.
Outgoing Chief Warrant Officer Kent Clapham
enrolled with the Ottawa Militia District
Headquarters in March of 1984 as a Private in the Administration
Clerk trade. He was Promoted to Cpl in April of 1985 and Master
Corporal in June of 1987.
Then Master Corporal Clapham transferred to The Cameron Highlander
of Ottawa in September of 1987 and remustered to the infantry. He
was promoted to Sergeant on in 1989 and appointed as a Section Commander
in A Company. He filled numerous positions as a Sergeant, including
Platoon Second In Command in A Company and Course Second In Command
in Administration Company for several courses. He also filled the
positions of Administration Sergeant and Transport Sergeant in the
Administration Company.
Mr. Clapham was promoted to Warrant Officer in 1995 and appointed
as Company Sergeant Major of the Administration Company, a post
he held simultaneously with the position of Regimental Quarter Master
Sergeant. From 1996 to 1997 he was appointed to Area Training Center,
Detachment Ottawa as Standards Warrant Officer. In 1999 he was promoted
to Master Warrant Officer and appointed Company Sergeant Major of
A Company, of The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa.
In January of 2001 Master Warrant Officer Clapham was appointed
Regimental Sergeant Major of The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa,
a post he held until 24 November 2005, and in May of 2001 he was
promoted to Chief Warrant Officer. CWO Clapham has turned in his kilt and balmoral for pants and
a beret as he takes over as 33 Brigade Sergeant Major. Good luck
